Dear readers of CheapShow Magazine,
I think it’s time I updated you on the current status of the magazine.
As a great fan of physical media, it felt very important to me to continue offering printed copies of the magazine alongside the digital editions. In recent years, however, sales of printed magazines have collapsed to such an extent that even selling a few dozen copies has become an immense struggle.
Creating the magazine has never been about making money. Every penny ‘earned’ went straight back into the production of the next issue. Unfortunately—as is the case with almost everything else— printing costs and the hosting expenses for this website have risen significantly. This means that the magazine’s net result has fallen well below zero.
Consequently, I have decided to close Cheapmag.shop as of December 1st and to postpone the release of the printed version of issue 19—possibly combining it with issue 20 as a double pack at a later date. I am also seriously questioning whether the magazine should continue at all. I will give this some thought and will update you sometime in the next couple of weeks.
To those that have supported the magazine over the years, I’d like to express my sincere gratitude. It means the world to me.
